This week, PECO will be exhibiting at the Philadelphia Auto Show – Philadelphia’s premier, annual auto show. The event is held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and during the show, car shoppers and enthusiasts – many of whom are PECO customers – can view and experience hundreds of vehicles. This year’s event runs from Saturday, March 5 – Sunday, March 13.

At the event, PECO will be educating customers about electric vehicles (EVs), the future of transportation electrification, and our EVsmart program, which launched at the 2020 Philadelphia Auto Show. At PECO’s booth, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with employees, learn about EVs and incentive programs, experience online tools and interactive charging location maps, and check out PECO’s EVs and charging stations.

Expanding clean electric transportation options is critical to meeting Pennsylvania’s environmental goals, reducing the state’s carbon footprint and bringing cleaner air to our communities. Electrification and the support of EVs is an important part of PECO’s Path to Clean – the company has pledged to electrify 30% of the enterprise vehicle fleet by 2025 and 50% by 2030 through a combination of fully electric vehicles, vehicles with plug-in idle mitigation units and plug-in hybrids.

Additionally, PECO is working to educate customers on the financial, environmental, and health benefits of owning and EV, as well as on public charging network locations and availability. The company offers a set of programs and incentives to encourage transportation electrification, including rebates for EV owners, rebates for commercial customers and fleet users to support charging infrastructure installation, and Time-Of-Use rates that supports EV charging.

PECO’s EVsmart Program features an interactive, online EV toolkit that allows customers to research the benefits and advantages of owning an EV. The digital toolkit allows customers to:

  • Calculate the savings potential of owning an EV, including monthly savings based on personal commuting patterns
  • Calculate carbon reduction for environmental savings
  • Research available EV and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) options
  • Review available EV chargers
  • Access a map of public charging stations
  • Identify potential tax incentives
  • Discover special incentives and promotions, including the PECO Driver Rebate where customers can apply for a $50 rebate just for purchasing a plug-in electric vehicle

By electrifying the company’s fleet and educating customers about the benefits of transportation electrification will help PECO meet its Path to Clean goal to reduce operations-driven emissions by 50 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero operations-driven emissions by 2050.
