Each year on July 10, PECO honors those who work tirelessly to provide our customers with the safe, reliable energy service they depend on to power their lives. Today, we recognize the lineworkers who work 24-hours a day, seven days a week, to keep the lights on and gas flowing for our customers.

Lineworkers are responsible for maintaining and enhancing the local energy grid – overhead, underground, at substations and everywhere else the grid extends. Field employees work in challenging conditions to bring safe and reliable electric and natural gas service to PECO customers and to others across the country. The work that they do is critical to maintaining essential service to support the everyday needs of our customers.

“I am proud of our lineworkers for their unwavering commitment to maintaining and improving the grid, working safely throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the many inclement weather events we’ve experienced over the last year, to provide a cleaner and brighter future for our customers,” said John McDonald, PECO senior vice president and COO.

Lineworkers across the labor industry celebrate National Lineworker Appreciation Day with PECO each year on July 10, including the Edison Electric Institute, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and energy companies across the nation, including Exelon sister companies Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, and Pepco.

Please join us and our fellow energy companies in thanking and recognizing lineworkers today. Thank you for your resilience and commitment to our customers, safety performance, and teamwork.

We are immensely grateful for all that you do to power a cleaner and brighter future for our communities.
