PECO’s Crown Lights have been an iconic Philadelphia landmark since 1976, and that won’t change anytime soon. However, on July 6, PECO will power down the lights as the platform undergoes system upgrades. The Crown Lights will return later this fall.

Throughout the years, the Crown Lights have supported a multitude of community and nonprofit organizations and have celebrated many significant local, regional, and national milestones, including: the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LII Victory, the Democratic National Convention, and the World Meeting of Families Conference and the Papal Visit.

Did you know?

  • The Crown Lights have saluted the community and nonprofit organizations with more than 17,500 messages during the past 44 years
  • The last time the Crown Lights were down for maintenance was 2009
  • The Crown Lights are made up of more than 2 million energy-efficient LED Lights (all containing color capability!)

Can’t join us to say, ‘see you soon,’ as we kick off the final Crown Lights display? Don’t worry, you can keep your eyes peeled on social media to see the final display

While the lights are down, we will share various community messages on our virtual “Crown Lights” display through Facebook, so be sure to hit that follow button!
