PECO’s core mission is to keep the lights on and the gas flowing for our customers. But we don’t stop there, we also want to be good partners and help create cleaner and greener communities. PECO has a strong commitment to protecting and preserving the environment, and that starts in our own backyard.
That includes cleaning up any messes that we make by recycling our tools, equipment, and materials. In 2020, we recycled 97% of all waste generated at PECO!
Our recycling efforts go beyond cans, bottles, and paper materials—which we recycled more than 2 million pounds of in 2020. We also recycle tires from our company vehicles, transformers, stone, and recycle trees into reusable mulch.
