At PECO, we’re all about powering our communities and making connections where it matters. In honor of Veterans Day, we’re proud to recognize former and active duty military members and their families for their acts of service and all the ways they empower their own communities across the U.S. Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice.

Here at home, we’re especially proud to recognize one of our own employees – aerial lineman and Marine Corp. veteran Mark Abbott – for his continued commitment to inspire those around him both personally and professionally.

In his six years at PECO, Mark has been a driving force for camaraderie and teamwork, and a shining example of what it means to pursue a purpose that is bigger than yourself. In addition to his full-time job at PECO, Mark is the Oxford Pennsylvania Chapter President of The Weekly Fight, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans, first responders and their families turn post-traumatic stress into post-traumatic growth through community support, health and fitness.

His involvement with the organization stemmed from a passion he shared with his wife to give back to the veteran community after experiencing the loss of a fellow service member and friend, and his work extends well beyond the organization in Pennsylvania. Not only has The Weekly Fight grown across the U.S., but Mark has shared his experiences with PECO employees to bring awareness to veteran health and the importance of supporting veterans in their transition back to civility life.

We’re proud of Mark for his work in and out of PECO, which you can watch in his story below. Join us in saluting him and all other service members this Veterans Day.
